Even though our wellness campaign is officially coming to a close, we won't stop loving ourselves. In fact, right now is a perfect time to take all the knowledge we dropped on you and really commit to living it!
Yup, the holidays are coming and that means, fun, stress, booze, distractions, super delicious yet decadent foods, family, financial pressures and more. Basically a super fun festive time that can potentially completely derail your wellness practice!
We've got some tools for ya:
- Get your fitness schedule dialed in. Plan it out a week, 2 weeks, or even a month in advance. be realistic given your busy holiday schedule. Treat each class you schedule like an appointment with your boss ( a really fun cool boss who is your cheerleader 100% ) i.e., there's no way out of its unless your life is literally on fire! Like i always say, make like NIKE and JUST DO IT.
- Get a wellness buddy. You've probably made a friend who like you and is crazy about making their lives better through moving there bodies, feeding it well and generally taking good care of themselves on all levels. Become each other's accountability partner!! Share your class schedule, nutrition goals and talk about ways that you are going to make sure stress doesn't get the best of you this holiday season.
- Have a mindfulness/meditation practice in your back pocket. Stress compounds and there are all kinds of unpleasant physiological results of chronic stress. Meditation is the best way to relieve it. You can incorporate nasal breathing into your life as a mindfulness practice and there are huge benefits (seems too easy right?! it's real, try it) and you can seriously do it anywhere + anytime.
- Plan, prepare and strategize. Let's be real, it's time to eat drink and be merry right?! But between social pressures, broken routines, stress and emotional association and all that yummy food and drink---it can mean undesired shifts in your fitness/wellness. Take a moment to think about the couple months ahead, create some boundaries for yourself and if keeping yourself on your regular fitness routine just isn't possible, take a look at what is realistic and commit to it!
